Lessons learned.

2015 was a huge year in my life. I've learned so many lessons that I never thought I would at such a young age. I'm happy and sad to see 2015 go, but I have such high hopes for 2016. So here's what I leaned this year...

1.
• This year I learned to never let anyone leave me without telling them how much I love them. Having a best friend pass away puts your whole life in perspective. It shows you just how much people really mean to you. I won't let a single one of my friends leave my without telling them I love them. Because I don't want anyone to doubt how much they mean to me!

2.
• I've always felt like I wasn't like most of my friends. I never went through the "teenage" phase when you want to go out and party. I always thought that made me weird. I didn't know why everyone else wanted to do that so much when that stuff never intrigued me. But this year I learned that that's okay. I learned that I am definitely the mom in my friend group. And that's okay with me! I love coming home to my sweet puppies and cuddling up with them and James and going to bed early. I may be boring to some people, but I absolutely love my life like this!

3.
• One important thing that I learned this year is that it's okay not to know where your life is going. I'm a senior in high school, but I still have not decided what to do with my life. I know I want to be in the medical field, but I haven't decided yet. But that's okay, because when the time is right I will know!

4.
• Friendships have been a huge part of my year. I have some of the greatest friends ever, I really believe that. But I've also had my share of friends that aren't so great. If they are bringing negativity to you, you don't need them. Plain and simple. Your happiness is the most important, so make sure that your friends care about it too!

5.
• Having a positive attitude is one of the best things I have grown into this year. Positivity can make even the worse situations better. I feel like positivity is one of the big characteristics that I look for in my friends. Surround yourself with positive people, keep a positive attitude, and positive things will happen!

6.
• This year I have learned that people are going to take advantage of you. It hurts and it sucks, but most likely it will happen. If it happened repeatedly, something needs to be done about it. That person obviously doesn't value you enough to keep you. Be smart about who you keep in your life.

7.
• Family is the most important thing you have. Whether it's your biological family or your chosen family, they are one of the best blessings you've got. One of the best things I get to do is come home to my little family every night. And I feel so incredibly lucky to do so! {so what if my babies are dogs, they're still family too!}

I'm sorry that this is one of my more serious blog posts, but I learned a lot of good and bad lessons this year. But I've learned, I've overcome, and I'm a happier person because of it.

I hope y'all have an amazing {and safe} New Years Eve and New Years Day! I can't wait to share my day with all of you. There will be tons of pictures, I promise! I'll see y'all next year! {I JUST WANTED AN EXCUSE TO SAY THAT!!!}

2015 in a nut shell.

2015 was one of the best years of my life. It was full of extreme highs and extreme lows. It baffles me to think that there's only one full day left in this year. Thank you for all the beautiful memories, 2015, but I'm ready to see what 2016 has to offer!

Here's my year...

I got to ring in the new year with my one of my all time BFF's & my BF.

The most devastating thing I could ever think of happened to my small town. One of the sweetest girls in the whole world lost her life in a car accident. This changed me forever. I'll always miss her & love her, but I'll always be #ShaniceInspired.

I got my first tattoo for Shanice.

My babe and I got to spend our anniversary in Florida. What better way to celebrate?

Abby and I became inseparable. The rest is history!

I had a fairytale prom.

A group of my best friends went to the Spring into Summer fest where we got to see Easton Corbin perform. We also had an absolute blast!

My sweetheart graduated! { & I cried like a baby! }

I got my second tattoo!

One of my BFF's Kait ( southernkait.blogspot.com ) had an absolutely awesome glow stick birthday party!

My baby boy turned one year old.. *crying face.*

I decided to try something new.. volleyball! It was a blast and I was invited to the Kentucky Wesleyan volleyball camp.

I spent many days {and nights} on the water.

I got to go to the Big O fest and see my baby Corey Smith, Chris Stapleton, Travis Tritt, and JAKE OWEN!

I was lucky enough to make football homecoming court my senior year with these crazy kids!

Then I was even luckier to be crowned Homecoming Queen. Still a little in shock about this one!

There were about a million & 1 camping trips!

I took my senior pictures!!! { Kelli Herring Photography! }

I made a ton of great memories with this group of girls. From our "Glamping" trip to Friendsmas, we shared a ton of laughs and lots of love!

Lastly, my sweetheart took me on the most picture perfect holiday date I could ever imagine.

I'm so incredibly blessed to have had such an amazing year. It was full of laughs, tears, smiles, and love. I hope 2016 will be just as great, if not better! Y'all have a safe & fun New Years!! {Don't forget to eat your black eyed peas for good luck!!}

This is the year I graduate. That's terrifying! But on a lighter note, on this gross rainy Monday I've decided on some of my top New Years resolutions!

One thing I REALLY wanted to do was start a planner this year. So I did!

I swear I get excited over the littlest things, but I was sooo excited to finally do this! Hopefully I can keep up with it for the whole year! I'm going to hold myself to it as best as I can. But hey, when its this cute why wouldn't I?

>>> New Years Resolutiones <<<
• to get and STAY organized
• GET HEALTHY!

CHRISTMAS

••• I'm sorry that it's been a couple days. The holidays are a really crazy time around here! •••

I basically spend the whole year preparing for Christmas. Then in one day it's over... How sad. But I had the best Christmas ever. I have such an amazing family and it's so nice to see all of them. I don't have a huge family, but I did have the pleasure of going to 3 different Christmases this year.

On Christmas Eve James and I spent the day at his Papaws surrounded by a ton of great company. We ate some amazing food, shot a lot of guns, and opened presents! I feel truly blessed to be a part of their Christmas for the second year in a row! We were able to spend most of Christmas Eve outside because it felt so good outside!

Christmas Eve also brought my family a little Christmas Miracle.

Hunter got a sister and her name is Remington. I couldn't have been more excited to welcome this sweet girl into our family. Now I'm the dog mommy of 2! And Hunter couldn't love her more thankfully!

Christmas Day we woke up at 5:30 to open presents. 5:30. In the morning. It was a LONG day after that. But my favorite part was sitting there watching James, Hunter, and my mom open the presents I got them. Nothing makes me happier!! I got some pretty awesome presents from both of them so I am also very thankful for that!

Then we headed over to my Grandmas house for a huge meal and lots of love!

THEN we went to my great grandmas house to see her. It was great because we don't get to see her very often. She's my dads grandma and she's probably the cutest women ever. And I love listening to stories about when my dad was little. We were all wishing that he was there, but it was nice to hear from him and he sent us some really great Christmas presents!!

Over all I had a truly blessed Christmas. I hope y'all had one (or more) just as great as me! Here's some pictures of my day.

Another dog post?¿

Yep... another one. I just can't help bragging on my pup. {Sorry not sorry!} In the year and a half that Hunter has been alive, I promise I've taken atleast 37384826 pictures of him! So here I am laying in bed reminiscing about the past year with my gorgeous pup and I thought I'd show y'all a timeline of pictures of his life. Here are some of my absolute favorite pictures of my sweet puppy. Hope y'all enjoy!
•••warning: there's gonna be a lot of pictures!•••

This is Peaches! She has been James dog for a really long time and when he got pregnant he surprised me with getting me one of her puppies! (she's not preggo yet in this picture!)

Here's me trying to cuddle the babies out of her before we left on a trip to St. Louis. It didn't work. (Sad face)

But while we were gone she had a beautiful litter of puppies. Basically two of every color!

This was the day we picked him to be ours and named him Hunter Blaine.

He's been a very strange dog from the beginning. This was one of his favorite sleepin positions. We've always joked that he's just "broken".

He has the prettiest eyes of any dog I've ever seen! Sadly they aren't THIS blue anymore.

Here's some more strange sleeping positions.

Hunter and daddy being adorable like always!

We used to take him EVERYWHERE with us! Sadly he can't ride on the console anymore!

I remember posting this picture on Instagram with the caption "when did my little puppy get so big??" Little did I know he was about to grow a ton.

Basically Hunter & daddy sleep really adorably together!

Puppy's first Christmas!

We bought him a bed.. he didn't really know how to use it!

Hunter got snowed in ALOT with his favorite brother Bleu. He didn't mind one bit!

Hunter is really good at making friends. Especially furry ones!

He loves spending warm days fishing at the lake with mommy & daddy!

Everybody tells me he's too big to hold.. obviously not!!

For spring break mommy, daddy, and Hunter drove all the way to Florida to see Hunter's Grandpa! He did surprisingly well and slept almost the whole way there!

He didn't like swimming without his life jacket! Notice that's not a doggie life jacket, that's a normal sized people life jacket!

As you can tell by the look on his face, he obviously hated being in Florida! {SIKE}

The beach on the other hand scared him a little. He loved the sand and all the other puppies, but he did NOT like the waves!

He had an exhausting day playing on the beach!

Mommy loved having her baby there with her though!!

He even smiled pretty for some prom pictures!

A year and a half later and he still sleeps like a total goober!

He's such a pretty boy and so good. I truly got blessed with this handful of a dog! We have a bond that I didn't even know was possible with an animal. But he's such a sweetie and I don't think I could possibly love him more if I tried! Next on the list: Christmas 2015 pictures!
If y'all wanna see more pictures of this big goob, just follow my Instagram! Most of my pictures are of him! https://www.instagram.com/xoxo_emmm/
Hope y'all have a good Christmas Eve Eve!
