2015 was a huge year in my life. I've learned so many lessons that I never thought I would at such a young age. I'm happy and sad to see 2015 go, but I have such high hopes for 2016. So here's what I leaned this year...
1.
• This year I learned to never let anyone leave me without telling them how much I love them. Having a best friend pass away puts your whole life in perspective. It shows you just how much people really mean to you. I won't let a single one of my friends leave my without telling them I love them. Because I don't want anyone to doubt how much they mean to me!
2.
• I've always felt like I wasn't like most of my friends. I never went through the "teenage" phase when you want to go out and party. I always thought that made me weird. I didn't know why everyone else wanted to do that so much when that stuff never intrigued me. But this year I learned that that's okay. I learned that I am definitely the mom in my friend group. And that's okay with me! I love coming home to my sweet puppies and cuddling up with them and James and going to bed early. I may be boring to some people, but I absolutely love my life like this!
3.
• One important thing that I learned this year is that it's okay not to know where your life is going. I'm a senior in high school, but I still have not decided what to do with my life. I know I want to be in the medical field, but I haven't decided yet. But that's okay, because when the time is right I will know!
4.
• Friendships have been a huge part of my year. I have some of the greatest friends ever, I really believe that. But I've also had my share of friends that aren't so great. If they are bringing negativity to you, you don't need them. Plain and simple. Your happiness is the most important, so make sure that your friends care about it too!
5.
• Having a positive attitude is one of the best things I have grown into this year. Positivity can make even the worse situations better. I feel like positivity is one of the big characteristics that I look for in my friends. Surround yourself with positive people, keep a positive attitude, and positive things will happen!
6.
• This year I have learned that people are going to take advantage of you. It hurts and it sucks, but most likely it will happen. If it happened repeatedly, something needs to be done about it. That person obviously doesn't value you enough to keep you. Be smart about who you keep in your life.
7.
• Family is the most important thing you have. Whether it's your biological family or your chosen family, they are one of the best blessings you've got. One of the best things I get to do is come home to my little family every night. And I feel so incredibly lucky to do so! {so what if my babies are dogs, they're still family too!}
I'm sorry that this is one of my more serious blog posts, but I learned a lot of good and bad lessons this year. But I've learned, I've overcome, and I'm a happier person because of it.
I hope y'all have an amazing {and safe} New Years Eve and New Years Day! I can't wait to share my day with all of you. There will be tons of pictures, I promise! I'll see y'all next year! {I JUST WANTED AN EXCUSE TO SAY THAT!!!}
Xoxo.
